Re: LaRussa Leaving Arizona:

I was honestly surprised he stuck around this year. Lots of people wanting him to come back and replace Mo or Matheny, but in his statement TLR said the job was more demanding than he realized. Not the words of a guy ready or willing to jump into another front office or managerial job.

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

Also, I feel that he sometimes changes pitchers too soon. Other times, he will let a pitcher continue until there is no way the Cardinals can possibly catch up. The run count just got out of reach. I know this sound contradictory, but there is a balancing point. However, he has no clue about that o...

Re: League Discussion Thread

What can you do when your top-5 offense scores 2 runs in 4 games? Nothing. :x

Re: Official 2017 PostSeason Playoff Thread

Sabathia is my one hope that Wainwright can become a moderately productive starting pitcher again. Though I don't think Wainwright has a drinking problem he can go to rehab for. CC's had a great turnaround for the Yankees and been a key part of their success this year. And they backed him up last ni...

Re: Political Dugout

As a society, we have to placing people on a false pedestal. If there’s any good that may come from the Trump presidency, maybe it will be that we finally start seeing real people run for office instead of these corporately manufactured fools. That's funny. I think it forces the real people out bec...

Re: Political Dugout

But, generally-speaking, I agree with you. Just not when a public figure publicly comments on the same issue & is close to the accused. I agree, but did we expect Hillary to say, "I support him and am totally acceptable with him sexual assaulting people." No, I think we could have all...

Re: Did you see that?

On 8/21 to close out a 4-3 victory, new Aces closer David Prettyman threw the closest to an immaculate inning as I've ever personally witnessed in this game. 3 strikeouts, 9 strikes, 10 pitches. So close.

Re: Political Dugout

I actually think Erin Burnett & CNN have done a solid job of covering the Weinstein story so far. She's even been critical of Hillary for the slow response to the issue. I find this laughable that people are criticized for not issuing statements on this. All for a statement that is basically, &...

Re: Political Dugout

If you don't think a particular media outlet is biased, it's because your bias matches theirs. So liberals think MSNBC/CNN are unbiased news sources and conservatives think FOX News is an unbiased news source. I consider myself fairly up the middle and I see the fact that I can't watch more than fiv...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

We all do realize and accept that they're just going to maintain the status quo, right? Come January we'll get explanations about trade market was too uncomfortable, other teams were willing to go further, and how they'll reallocate the dollars somewhere else. Low risk, low reward is the Cardinals' ...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

Regardless of who, it's definitely yet another giant flashing sign that the chemistry in the clubhouse is off. Yet nothing seems to have been done to correct it. These problems existed before at least Cecil and Fowler got here. Fowler was supposed to help, but as a new player, if you don't hit the ...

Re: Political Dugout

Hey. You guys can read and listen to what you want. The point is, you should have a mixed diet of information. Too much of one thing is not good. Agreed. Each news site is going to put their own spin on it to fit their agenda or push the narrative they want. Whether that be CNN, MSNBC, FOX News or ...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

There was one game where Fowler spent it in a suite with his wife and some others instead of being in the dugout, even though he wasn't going to play that day. I can imagine that rubbing players the wrong way. They're out there fighting for their playoff chances and you can't even be bothered to sit...
