Re: Political Dugout

I once read the idea that the anti-gun crowd should all join the NRA and take it over from the inside. I thought it was a pretty good idea.

I'm sure those officers thought School Resource Officer was going to be a cushy gig where they never had to draw a weapon, but duty calls.

Re: ST Game #1:

He was decent as a pitcher his last full season. Problem with him really is it's going to take another year before he's truly ready. So this is basically a lost year. His goal is to pitch well enough to get another team to give him a shot next year. But he's also a lefty. So you could see him make a...

Re: ST Game #1:

This was Schafer's first appearance live pitching post-Tommy John, I believe. So control issues are not all that surprising. What is are the number of people who think he has a chance to break camp with the big league club. The 8 are pretty much decided unless they make a trade or someone gets hurt....

Re: 2018 MLB News & Tidbits Thread

Today's reminder that Harold Reynolds is paid to talk about baseball, something that it's incredible he knows so little about despite having played for so long... Apparently he said batting Aaron Judge second is "wasting his power" and he'd bat him sixth. Which would give Judge roughly 10...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

This guy think's Mo's done a much better job this Winter than most Cards fans do. https://www.mlb.com/news/how-5-mlb-teams-can-still-win-the-offseason/c-266702116 If the Cardinals had to keep their payroll around $140M, they had a great offseason... Except that the team can easily sustain a $180M p...

Re: 2018 Spring Training Thread

It's our society R27, exacerbated by social media megaphones. Everybody wants to be outraged over something for their own self-importance. We complain when players use cliches to answer questions. We complain when players give a real answer instead of cliches. We'll see who emerges as the next one ...

Re: 2018 Spring Training Thread

Man, fans piss me off sometimes. Tommy Pham was asked about what was different this spring. His answer was that Mo says he's on the team. And fans are immediately angry that he didn't give them the cliche "I'm working hard to earn my spot" answer and gave a real one. Tommy Pham has been wo...

Re: Political Dugout

The only actual conservative fiscally who was running was Rand Paul. He is one of the few current politicians who I would truly support in running for president because he has principles and actually stands by them. Nearly all the other Republicans are when they are the minority and then when they ...

Re: Political Dugout

I can tell you we wouldn't be in a daily 24 hr The Senstational White House Reality TV Show if Kasich was our President. Just sayin' ............ That is who I voted for in the primaries. But Kasich was boring and probably would have been effective. What's the fun in that? America loves to watch a ...

Re: Political Dugout

Does it really matter though? It's all just scandalous, illicit clickbait that has absolutely no bearing on the country. Has a YUGE bearing on the country. In SO many ways. I will tell you that the ridiculously promiscuous nature of our society, a 50% divorce rate that doesn't include all the kids ...

Re: Political Dugout

The AR-15 is commonly called an assault rifle because almost every mass shooting ('assault') in recent US history has involved the use of an AR-15. The fact is, virtually no one uses them for hunting. They're almost exclusively used for range shooting and killing people. The half dozen people I kno...
