Re: 2018 MLB News & Tidbits Thread

Sounds like Giants have acquired McCutcheon. Gonna be weird to see him in anything other than a Pirates jersey.

Re: RBT Question Of The Day

I'll let Tommy answer that one. "I don't really understand that (that he'll see better pitches in front of Ozuna). I see a lot of good pitches cause I lay off the bad ones. That's the key to the game." We'll see, I'll not argue with him. But he was second only to eagle-eye Carp in BBs las...

Re: RBT Question Of The Day

I dunno. He did what he did last year hitting in front of Nobody for quite awhile. Put him in front of Ozuna, with Pham's ability to steal, and he oughta see some pretty good pitches (provided he can see at all).

Re: 2018 MLB News & Tidbits Thread

Cole has been barely above average the past two seasons and outside of one season (2015) has pretty much been an average pitcher. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice pickup by Houston, but I think Cole's creds as an ace are highly overrated. It's just to slag our own staff. Over the years cf4l's ...

NL batting champion Charlie Blackmon and the Rockies avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a $14 million, one-year contract on Friday.

The 31-year-old center fielder hit .331 with 37 homers and 104 RBIs last year and made $7.3 million. He can become a free agent after this season

Re: 2018 Schedule Released

The Cardinals removed 1,000 seats from six sections in the upper-right-field level of the stadium two months ago. In their place, they will be adding two full-service bars, standing areas and lounge seating from which fans can still view the full playing field. The concourse area directly behind thi...

IMO, Jeter needs to not be judged on what he's doing this winter. According to Fish Stripes, Moncaleano is hoping to get one million signatures on his petition, which was launched on Jan. 6 and can be found at Care2. The petition begins with Moncaleano “calling on all South Floridians to stand up f...

Re: 2017 Offseason News Thread

Unfortunately Ozuna only has 2 years of control remaining including this year. So 1 more year after this. Hopefully he does do well in 2018 and we have to pay him 14M+ in 2019!

I thought he was Arb2 this year & had 2 more years thereafter.

Imagine if some young guy puts up Pujols in his prime numbers, the amount he'd get now if teams are paying somebody 11 million for ONE GOOD YEAR Just remember that Pujols got a record pre-Arb 3rd year contract then got a record Arb-buyout contract and a record STL contract. It was a fantastic deal ...
