Re: Political Dugout

As a society, we have to placing people on a false pedestal. If there’s any good that may come from the Trump presidency, maybe it will be that we finally start seeing real people run for office instead of these corporately manufactured fools. That's funny. I think it forces the real people out bec...

Re: Political Dugout

Like Metallica said, Sad but true. We have so many people that want to clutch their bible and drape themselves in a flag in public. Yet behind closed doors, those same people are some of the most morally reprehensible people you will come across. As a society, we have to placing people on a false pe...

Re: Political Dugout

We are truly in a sorry state right now. It’s kinda like we are living through a real life version of “Idiocracy”.

Re: Political Dugout

If you don't think a particular media outlet is biased, it's because your bias matches theirs. So liberals think MSNBC/CNN are unbiased news sources and conservatives think FOX News is an unbiased news source. I consider myself fairly up the middle and I see the fact that I can't watch more than fi...

Re: Political Dugout

If the WaPo/NYT/CNN tried to bury the Clinton email scandal, that would’ve been a bias. But they didn’t. In fact they were all very aggressive with the story. In fact, many agencies seemed to not really want to dig in on the Trump’s comments regarding where he likes to grab women. I think people hav...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

Bernie Miklasz makes an excellent point in this article. While the Cards have drafted and developed players just as well as any other team in the league, they haven’t done a good job of supplementing that homegrown talent. https://www.101sports.com/2017/10/10/problem-cardinals-many-cardinals-need-ou...

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

That’s what I’m wondering. What the heck is he there for if he isn’t good at what he’s supposed to be best at? But ultimately, the performance of this team comes down to accountability or lack thereof and an erosion of the most basic baseball fundamentals. Matheny’s inability to hold the entire rost...

Re: Political Dugout

Hey. You guys can read and listen to what you want. The point is, you should have a mixed diet of information. Too much of one thing is not good.

Re: 2017 Be the GM Thread

I found the fact that those three players were called out by name to be very interesting. Two of the three have a no trade clause, but if they are getting roasted in the local paper, they may suddenly become inspired to waive that. And the third player is about to start getting paid big cash, even t...

Media bias study... http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/Media-Bias-Is-Real-Finds-UCLA-6664 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Here’s a more current article that speaks of media bias. Believe me, it’s a real thing and just because of the nature of journalism, most of it will always have a more liberal...

Re: Political Dugout

NYT/WaPo/CNN- They were all in on the Clinton email story. A bias would’ve been to not report on it or poopoo it away. SIRIUSXM POTUS Channel - The majority of their shows are designed to give a non-biased, down the middle honest view of the news. PBS Politico Reuters AP Remember, just because the p...

Re: Political Dugout

The problem is that there isn't a "straight down the middle" news source. They are all one side or another. They purposely frame it as red vs blue and try to make people pick a side like it is a team sport so that they stay as the only 2 parties that matter. We need a good 3rd party but I...

Re: Political Dugout

You are correct, as a nation we aren’t nearly as smart or sophisticated as we’d like to believe we are. There are far too many people that don’t know the difference between journalism and commentary. The fact that people believe that Hannity, Mathews and those likes are actual journalists is alarmin...

Re: Political Dugout

I read something interesting yesterday in the comments section of an article. Brave going into the comments, I know. But suggesting that gerrymandering is one of the main reasons we see so much division in politics right now. When your maps are drawn so that you have a predominantly democratic or r...
