Re: Be The GM Thread - 2nd 1/2 of 2015

I'd kick the tires on Ramirez if they were willing to give him away on the cheap to save paying him $5 million or so. If they want any of our truly best talent, I'd pass. Even at his 95 OPS+, he's been better than Reynolds and Adams. He is equal to what Scruggs has provided in his limited time (and ...

We've used up all the depth and then some this season. Both in the outfield and the rotation. Infield? You're up!

Kozma is hitting over .300 over the last month. Over .500 the last two weeks. Hasn't played in a week.

An afternoon game getting to three pages? That's pretty impressive.

I'd call Piscotty up and let him play first every day before I traded him for Lind.

Re: Game 83: Cardinals @ Cubs, 7/7/15, 12:20

Hatfield walking Soler with the bases loaded is the difference in this game.

There's also a Matt Carpenter at second base appearance as Wong is out after banging his head on that diving catch a couple innings back.

Re: Be The GM Thread - 2nd 1/2 of 2015

Cooney and a lottery ticket prospect for Lind sounds like a fair offer. Ultimately it depends what Milwaukee plans to do in 2016. They do have a fair amount of money coming off the books, but a big raise for Braun and first year arbitration for Segura, Smith, and Peralta.

At least we know the bullpen should be awake for the game. They sent the rookies out to Starbucks to fetch coffee in full uniform this morning. (Teran is the new bullpen catcher for the Cards, so I guess he qualifies as a rookie coach.) http://i.imgur.com/0f78Cbm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wxisflK.jpg

Re: Be The GM Thread - 2nd 1/2 of 2015

Lind would be a good pick up depending on how much we had to give. Not sure the Brewers are going to do us any favors though. They may trade within the division but the price may go up. I'd say at least Piscotty and a young pitcher, possibly Cooney or Lyons. Unless I'm getting a star caliber offens...

Re: Game 82: Cardinals @ Cubs, 7/6/15, 7:05

Reynolds hit a sac fly with the bases loaded in the top of the 9th. Grichuk followed it up with a double to score two more. 5-0 Cards now.

Edit: And Bourjos on the train now with a single up the middle. 6-0 Cards.

I liked the throw to first on Molina's grounder to right field. Almost got him too.

I remember doing that to my Dad once in a video game. He was pissed.

Re: Game 82: Cardinals @ Cubs, 7/6/15, 7:05

I agree on Grichuk. He needs a day off. Guess several guys will take one game off tomorrow with the Double dip. I forgot about that tomorrow. Would have been nice to get Grichuk a day off tonight and Bourjos a bunch of ABs today and tomorrow. Grichuk needs a break. A week into July and still hitless.
