If it is he'll have more time to continue to share his millions charitably with the poor in what we know know as "shi*hole countries". :o

Apparently, if you include the entire 40-man roster, it's turned over by more than 25 percent since the end of last season.

The opening day lineup in :

2017 ................2018
Fowler cf ........ Fowler rf
Diaz ss ............Pham cf
Carpenter 1b .. Carpenter 1b
Peralta 3b ........Ozuna lf
Molina c .......... DeJong ss
Piscotty rf .........Molina c
Gyorko 2b ........ Gyorko 3b
Grichuk lf ..........Wong 2b
Martinez p .........Martinez p

Wong being 'new' in the lineup is misleading as he was to be the starter @ 2B last year

I agree with the headline. That they are a move from having a great off-season. But I want no part of either suggested moves he mentioned. Needs to likely be in season at this point and needs to be either a big bat or big pitcher. Arrieta would work also if on a crazy short term deal (1-3 years).

If the Cardinals had to keep their payroll around $140M, they had a great offseason... Except that the team can easily sustain a $180M payroll. So they have at least $40M in their payroll budget, prospect depth, and the base of a really good team. They could have gone into this winter and left no doubt as to who the best team in the NL Central is. Except they chose not to.

That's probably the most frustrating part as a Cardinals fan. From 30,000 feet they did have a good offseason. But from up close, knowing they have what it takes to have made it a great offseason and didn't is the frustration.
