Official Yasiel Puig Thread

Postby chevyman58 » Sun Dec 13, 2015 8:57 am

##################################################

Puig is apparently a real %$#@ off the field too

“He is the worst person I’ve ever seen in this game. Ever.”

I think Mo should trade for him and sign Cueto as a free agent. If the play on the field isn't inspiring, at least the writers will have a blast covering it.

Sunday Puig is on 2B, Ellis lays down a bunt towards 3B with SS playing behind 2B, 3Bman charges to field it leaving 3B open and PUIG DOESN'T GO TO 3B! Ellis is angry, shots of dugout show lots of anger & dismay.

Last night Puig hits a shot to RF, poses at the plate to admire it, it bounces off the wall for a 365 ft single!

That was enough, he got pulled & benched for rest of game.

Indications are this guy is never, ever going to 'get it'. Even with Gonzales baby-sitting him every minute.

Amazing potential which may never be realized. Has never impressed me as a team first type of athlete. Seems to be a "Me First" type of guy. The type that can have a negative impact on a team's persona. Have never really liked the guy. Maybe he'll grow up....some light will come on, but doesn't seem likely at this point.... 8-)

At least he has a manager now who is willing to do these things. Imagine if he had from the beginning.

Indications were accurate so far .......... they're all sick & tired of his ridiculous behavior.

Failing to unload Yasiel Puig on another team before Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline, the Dodgers traveled to Colorado without their temperamental outfielder. The former face of the franchise is about to become a minor leaguer, his probable move to triple-A Oklahoma City expected to become official today. Something like this was inevitable. The story of Yasiel Puig always looked as if it were destined for a tragic ending.

Puig certainly deserves blame for what happened, the 25-year-old declining as a player while continuing to disrespect the people around him.

That was always the thing with Puig. As long as he was playing well and the team was winning, they could put up with him. But play poorly and there's no room for it.

The thing is he has actually played pretty well in the past month. The timing of this move is really strange.

He's hitting, but no power. .308 with 2 HR since coming off the DL on June 21st.

He's started just 1 game since July 21st.

He's started just 1 game since July 21st.

.308/.390/.440/.830 since coming off DL.

I'd take that from literally any position on my team.

And yeah, started 1 game since July 21st and he went 3/5 with 2 2B, 2 R, and 2 RBI. It is kind of absurd they are sending him down IMO. From what I read, up until now there haven't been the attitude problems of past years. He just hasn't been healthy. If he is someone who is being shopped around in the offseason, I'm taking a serious look if I am Mo. And I know a lot of Cards fans won't like that opinion, but talent is talent and his attitude hasn't been bad this year until now (and honestly, I'd be pretty pissed too to be sent down now when I'm finally back to playing well).

Apparently there continue to be attitude probs & internal tensions with his teammates & brass. They're just not going public with it.

Recall we cut Adam Kennedy loose and there was very, very little indication that internal tensions were that extreme.

Puig is owed the balance of $5.5 million this season, then $6.5 million next season, and $7.5 million the season after that.
