Two guys who have to feel a little cheated with the HOF vote:

McGwire. Piazza has admitted to using andro, as has McGwire. If you forgive Piazza, you have to forgive McGwire, right?

And Bagwell. Piazza gets in after admitted andro usage, Bagwell hasn't been linked to a thing and hasn't gotten in.

McGwire's votes fell, while Clemens' & Bonds' rose. I've argued Big Mac not a sure HOF'r anyway. And can't say Mac without saying Sosa.

Piazza had big numbers, particularly for a catcher.

Mac will never get in, no way, no how. And I think Sosa's a forgotten guy.

Regarding Piazza's induction - I'd take up advocacy for Ted Simmons before I'd do so for Mac or Bags.

It's more the logic that you have to deal with by voting Piazza in than really any legitimate candidacy. And you can more directly make the links to McGwire and Bagwell more than any other candidate. I'm not saying that any of the three are candidates. But you have to admit the logic for voting for Piazza, but not McGwire or Bagwell is fuzzy at best.
