The new CBA is eliminating the "This time it counts" clause that gives home field advantage in the World Series to the winner of the All Star Game.

Do ya think we'd have liked it more if the AL didn't win the game almost every single year?

I think we would have still thought the idea was stupid, but we wouldn't be celebrating its demise quite as much ;)

Clay Buckholz's home for sale here. Paid $2.875M for it used in '14. Has dropped price, won't break even.

According to FanRag Sports Jon Heyman, the Yankees have reached a one-year, $13M agreement with Matt Holliday, who will likely serve as a part-time first baseman and designated hitter.

GREAT for Holliday. Hope he has a fantastic season.

Glad he went to the AL. Now I can still root for him even if I hope his team loses.

This is a HUGE DEAL

Major League Baseball made official on Monday a new uniform deal that had been reported for two months: It’s linking up with Under Armour in a deal that, in 2020, will see Under Armour become the exclusive jersey-maker of baseball.

Gone will be Majestic, which had been MLB’s exclusive jersey producer since 2005 (and which last year re-upped through 2019). Gone will be Nike, which is currently a base-layer (i.e. undershirts) provider for MLB. Under Armour will now supply “all on-field uniform components.” New Era, which makes MLB’s caps, will remain in that role.

I hope we don't see an outpouring of stupid jerseys like Arizona's. That's really all I care about.

So long as we don't break with our traditional uniforms I'm not sure it matters who makes them. A good deal for Under Armour though.... 8-)

37 year old Rich Hill, who hasn't thrown more than the 110 innings he threw last year since 2007, just signed a 3 year, $48 million deal with the Dodgers.

In other terms, he and Mike Leake, who has more than twice as many career starts as Hill and is 7 years younger, will make the same amount of money over the next three years.
