Official ARod Thread

Postby chevyman58 » Sun Jul 12, 2015 7:11 pm

Alex Rodriguez had hit No. 3,020 to move into the top 25 on baseball's all-time list.

Rodriguez homered in the last two games then delivered a sixth-inning double today. That tied him with Rafael Palmeiro at 25th on the career list;

Rodriguez needs three hits to tie Lou Brock at No. 24.

Aroid is having a pretty decent season this year apparently not using steroids. Makes one wonder how good he really was in his prime.

The theory is that he isn't using, but the only reason he got caught is because Bosch got caught. There are dozens of guys just like Bosch in business. Probably many of who aren't nearly as shady.

Two days shy of his 40th birthday, Rodriguez hits 3 bombs & now has 23 homers -- his most in a season since he hit 30 in 2010.

Rodriguez carried the Yanks with the 5th three-homer game of his career Saturday night, including a game-tying drive in the ninth inning off closer Glen Perkins, to rally for an 8-5 victory over the Twins.

Rodriguez celebrated his 40th birthday by hitting another home run for his 24th of the season and his fourth in his last two games. He joined Ty Cobb, Rusty Staub and Gary Sheffield as the only players with home runs before their 20th birthday and on or after their 40th.

Rodriguez's first career home run was hit as a 19-year-old on June 12, 1995.

ARod DONE. On Roster thru this week, gets to start one Final Game on Friday. Immediately thereafter Full Release & he goes home.

Remains under his contract thru year as a Special Advisor to Hal Steinbrenner, purportedly to work with young ballplayers.

Brilliant bit of accounting by the Yankees. I bet ya'll two syringes and half a bottle of Andro that A-Rod's front office deal is worth approximately $21M and whatever left he's owed in 2016. By moving that deal into the front office though, they don't have to pay luxury tax on it.

No ........... Cashman addressed this specifically in presser ............. ARod gets his player contract paid exactly as written. Advisory/Instructor agreement separate & independent - and not binding. He even mentioned "the other 29 clubs will get every penny of Luxury Tax they're owed" and that ARod will get his full Release on Friday & will "go home". Advisory deal is directly between him & Hal Steinbrenner & any instructional role he ends up doing for them will begin next Spring Training and/or occur on-demand in the interim in Tampa at their instructional facilities.

Among the most famous deferred payments is the $1.2 million that former player Bobby Bonilla is due every year starting in 2011 and running through 2035. Total: $29 million, according to Spotrac. Bonilla last played in 2001.

WOW! :o :shock: :o :shock: :o

That's always fantastic. I remember someone mentioning a couple years ago that Jason Bay and Bobby Bonilla were the Mets' highest paid outfielders. And neither played for them.
