Mr. Baseball - - - - Tim Tebow!

Postby chevyman58 » Tue Aug 23, 2016 5:45 pm

Tebow spent training camp with the New England Patriots in 2013 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015, but the 2010 first-round pick hasn’t played a meaningful snap in the league since 2012.

So now Tebow has turned his attention to baseball. He hasn’t played the game since his junior year of high school over a decade ago, but he’s been working out on the diamond, and feels he’s ready to try out for teams.

On Tuesday, multiple reporters tweeted that Tebow will hold a showcase in Los Angeles on Aug. 30, and there’s enough curiosity in what the now-29-year-old Tebow can do that more than 20 Major League Baseball teams are confirmed to be sending personnel to watch the workout.

ESPN's Pedro Gomez tells us the two #MLB organizations he has heard have the most interest in Tim Tebow are the #Rockies & #Braves.

A baseball team employs roughly 200 players. He's a hard worker, knows how to lead people, and has been a winner at everything he's done. I'd pay the man just to have him around my minor leaguers. And who knows, maybe he'd be good?

Tim Tebow may have had his best day as a New York Mets prospect.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback had two hits, scored a run and ended a three-inning game with a sliding grab Tuesday in his final tuneup before his instructional league debut. He is to play Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals' instructional club.

''I feel like every day I'm getting a little more comfortable,'' said Tebow, who singled in his last two at-bats of the simulated game. ''It's great just to see live pitching and get live at-bats. I'm just getting a little bit better every day. That's the goal.''

According to a friend who is a Mets fan, he hit an opposite field home run today.

Edit: Can confirm. Just saw the replay on ESPN in the break room while prepping my lunch. First pitch.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim Tebow hit a home run on the very first pitch in his very first professional at-bat today. Vs the Cardinals.

His homer came off left-hander John Kilichowski, the Cardinals' 2016 11th-round pick out of Vanderbilt, who gave up just one homer in 47 at-bats vs. left-handed batters in the Minors this year.

Kilichowski tweeted at Tebow after the game saying that he thought they agreed he was going to take the first pitch.

Tim Tebow’s Arizona Fall League season ends with horrendous assessments by scouts.

“Awful,” said one AL scout.

“Stinks,” said one from the NL.

“Ugly,” said another executive. “In the field and at the plate, nothing looks natural.”
