I feel dumb but I didn't realize that you couldn't have a rain shortened World Series game. Makes perfect sense though. It'll be curious to see if things get finished before the weather kicks in tonight or if it makes things a little more complicated.

The Amazing Schwarber with a 2-out RBI base-hit on a 3-0 count.

2-0 Bad Guys thru 2-1/2.

The Amazing Schwarber with ANOTHER RBI, a single.

And now he takes another BB.

So far in 1st 2 games he's 3-for-6 with 2 BBs & 2RBI thru 8 PAs.

Amazing to see a number of the same TV Experts who described putting Schwarber on the WS Roster as insanity now saying he should start in LF for 3 ABs then perhaps pull him last couple innings for defensive substitution.

I maintain my original position he should only DH in the AL games & should only be available as a PH'r in Wrigley.

I also maintain that Heyward should not start any WS games.

I think people undervalue having a great PH in the postseason.

Craig was brilliant as a pinch hitter in the 2011 World Series. He had 5 pinch hits in the postseason. He was 3-for-3 as a pinch hitter in the World Series. The first two were both go ahead RBI. The third was a solo shot as part of the Game 6 comeback (five years ago yesterday)

In the 2009 NLDS when Torre made it clear he was going to pitch around Pujols every time he came up, I'd have switched it up and brought him off the bench, putting him into the first high value AB I could find and force the other team to pitch to him at least once.

Edit: Man, that gets me sad. I miss good Allen Craig. 5-for-5 in the World Series as a pinch hitter with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. At this point, I'm even willing to watch him play well for Boston.

Agreed. Not sure you could find a nicer guy than Allen Craig. That game winning run in the 2013 series has really cost him his career.

For whatever reason, Craig is also Mrs. EOCF's favorite player ever. According to my mother in law, the only time in the last 10 years she's ever seen her cry was the day the team traded him. Apparently her mom was convinced someone had died at first.

Now almost three years removed from that series. I don't buy it. If nothing else it should have re-healed just fine by now.

I almost bought a Craig shirsey in 2014, decided to buy a Neshek instead. A week later, Craig was traded and I was like, "Wow, dodged a bullet with that one. Would have been obsolete just days after I got it." Then Neshek changed his number for Lackey.

The collapse of Craig is one of the strangest things I've seen in baseball in a long time. He went from being a extremely good hitter to being a terrible hitter almost overnight. Even if it was an injury, to fall that far that fast is still puzzling to me.
