Stanton hits his 59th HR, Judge hits his 52nd

Postby chevyman58 » Tue Sep 19, 2017 9:52 am

The 55 HRs by Stanton are the most since Ryan Howard hit 58 with the Phillies in 2006. But he's struggled in September, hitting .170 with 3 HRs & 3 RBI. With 12 games left in the season 60 now looks doubtful.

Aaron Judge hit his 44th. The only Rookie with more was Mark McGwire with 49 in 1987 for Oakland. The Yankees have 12 games left, can Judge hit 50? Recall that Rookie Albert Pujols hit 37 for the Cardinals in 2001, he now has 613 for his career.

1 Stanton MIA 55 NL, NLMVP?
2 Judge NYY 44 AL, ALROY?
3 Martinez ARI 40 NL
4 Davis OAK 39 AL
5 Bellinger LAD 38 NL, NLROY?
5 Gallo TEX 38 AL
5 Smoak TOR 38 AL
8 Encarnacion CLE 36 AL
8 Morrison TB 36 AL
8 Moustakas KC 36 AL
11 Blackmon COL 35 NL
11 Goldschmidt ARI 35 AL, NLMVP?
11 Votto CIN 35 NL

Who's the ALMVP, Altuve?

Stanton hit his 57th HR Saturday and set the Marlins' season RBI record at 125

Judge homered twice Sunday, his 47th and 48th home runs, to close within one of McGwire's rookie record.

Two homers for Judge again today, 49 and 50 to set the single season rookie record.

Judge has homered in five of his last seven games, including the 2 yesterday and the 2 today. That’s seven HRs in his past seven games.

Judge hit his 51st HR on Thursday. Judge is just the third player in MLB history age 25 or younger to compile 125 runs scored and 125 walks in a season. Babe Ruth did it in 1920, Ted Williams did it in 1941 and '42.

Stanton hit his 58th & 59th HRs on Thursday, the 6th in history to reach 59 -- joining Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, Maris and Ruth.

Judge hit his 52nd homer today and eclipsed a 96-year-old Babe Ruth record. It was his 33rd at Yankee Stadium, surpassing Ruth (1921) for the most homers hit at home by a Yankee in a single season.

If your a New York Yankee and you break a record held by the most famous name of the franchise, you just gotta step back at some point this offseason and take it n, then move on in ST 2018. truly a special year for young Aaron Judge. I would have to think the AL MVP will be his this year aswell. Altuve has had a great year aaswell, but hey you gotta love the HRs
