That totally sucks. As soon as I heard his plane went down with one passenger confirmed dead, I knew it was likely him. A few hours later, confirmation.

My favorite game that I've ever witnessed has to be 2011 NLDS Game 5. Carpenter v. Halladay. Cards win 1-0. It was more than just a Cardinals game or a great matchup to me. It was an intersection of my baseball fandom. I grew up in Canada and watched the Blue Jays. My oldest baseball memory is Joe Carter's walkoff HR in the 1993 World Series. So I have a soft spot for the Blue Jays. And here were the two guys who were supposed to be the twin towers of the new Blue Jays instead pitching for other teams with me now long switching my primary allegiance over to my father's Cardinals.

Just sad.

One of my favorite Halladay pictures. You can't make out really who it is, but it's Roy Halladay catching and his son pitching off the mound at the Rogers Centre, I believe. Gotta be every father's dream.

" 2011 NLDS Game 5. Carpenter v. Halladay. "

I just watched my 2011 World Series highligts DVD in it's entirety for the very first time last week. Fantastic game, so overshadowed by Game 6 of WS.

R.I.P. Roy.

Video obtained by TMZ Sports shows Halladay, 40, making big changes in altitude as he flew around the Gulf of Mexico — not far from his home in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He’d fly up to 100 feet in the air, according to TMZ, then down to a few feet above the water. TMZ termed it “showboating.”

Boston radio host mocks Roy Halladay's death, says he 'got what he deserved'

‘Wheee! Oh look, I just landed on the water, everybody! I’m going to tweet it!’ Splat. You’re dead. With two kids. Moron.”

“As a 40-year-old grown-ass man, you’re still doing that, to the point where you’ve got to get in planes and race cars and all that crap? I’m sorry, dude, you’re on your own. I’ve got no sympathy for you. He got what he deserved."
