Do the Cardinals make the 2018 Postseason?

I have a hard time saying yes. I just don't think that the pitching staff, rotation to bullpen, will hold together for 162 games.

I'd like to think so, but agree with R27's concerns. Is our pitching staff as it stands good enough to improve greatly on the 1 run game wins/loss count from last year? Can we do better within our division win/loss wise? Still think we need a closer either signed or traded for.

Will you be attending MLB game(s) this regular season and, if so, when & where?

I hope so. Cards come to Atlanta in September, so that would probably be the series.

Hoping to make it to that one as well. Id like to drive up and take in at least two out of three.

Will Tiger make the cut today at Torrey Pines?

One of my "resolutions" this year is to do more things I've wanted to do but not really made an effort to do because it's "too far" or I don't want to drag along the wife and kid with me.

Birdies the last to make it on the number. First cut made in 2-1/2 years.

Do you think the return of Jose Oquendo as 3B coach & infield instructor is a substantial improvement, a difference-maker?

Overall, do the additions of Willie McGee & Mike Maddux make us a better ballclub?

I think those additions will make a difference this year, but time will tell. I am glad to see the team addressing some of the issues from this past year.

I think Maddux will make a difference. He's not the highest paid pitching coach in baseball by accident (he might not be now, but under his previous deal with Washington he was and he certainly is the highest paid coach on the Cardinals). I think he can help Wainwright get his cutter back under control (Maddux has been described as a 'cutter disciple' and has been teaching/pushing it since before it became mainstream in the sport).

I think Oquendo can. In discussing how he handles the job, there's very much a "don't assume the player knows" factor to the way he approaches the third base coach duties and I think that can help. As infield instructor, we'll see how much Matheny lets him kick butts if he sees fundamental lapses. They've butted heads over it before and is one of the reasons there was rumored to be a division between the two.

I don't think McGee will see much impact. Just mostly because I don't see him having the same level of time to impact players like Maddux and Oquendo do/would.
