Big series. Cardinals can come out and make a statement that they can play with the Cubs.

Cubs are looking to stop a skid where they've gone 4-7 in their last 11 games too, losing series' to the Padres and Brewers in there too.

First game since Waino declared himself "dangerous again". Hopefully it plays out he's dangerous to others, not to us.

Good to see Wong look lost on that bunt. The defense has been pretty terrible this year ...

Adams ties it with a 2R PH HR, our 9th PH HR this year (4 total last season).

Grichuk wins it with a solo walkoff HR in the 9th.

I NEVER would have predicted this 2016 lineup would be scoring a huge % of their runs by HRs. Stunning.

The way this game began I would have given us little chance for a comeback. Just seemed like the same flat squad we've seen. Boy I'm glad I was wrong. Especially good to see Grichuk get the game winner. We need him producing and hopefully this will boost his confidence. Guy has so much talent.

Play of the game? To me it is when Carp caught the soft liner off the bat of Rizzo and doubled the runner off 3rd. Without that play we don't win.... 8-)

That was a HUGE play. Infield defense finally came through.

Wainwright was not very sharp last night. My wife came in and watched a couple innings with me and we were talking about his "dangerous" comment as he hit Soler. My wife was like, "Well, that's dangerous alright." I picked a good one.

Waino was working EXTREMELY hard on EVERY pitch.

In contrast Lackey was just cruising. With a very disadvantageous strike zone.

Lackey missed ONE PITCH in 7 innings & Adams CRUSHED it. Absolutely loved it.

Suddenly Rosenthal has Motte-itis. His fastball is absolutely straight 'n flat. And he's throwin' it right down the middle.

Conversely, Oh continues to be fantastic. Guy had 41 saves last year in a shorter season.

Ha, I don't see Mike abandoning the Rosenthal ship anytime soon, unfortunately.

Not when Oh has been exceptionally valuable in the role Maness has had the past few seasons, getting guys out of trouble.
