Some fun second half numbers...

After hitting .295/.371/.488 in the first half, Stephen Piscotty is hitting .240/.305/.422 in the second half.

Jedd Gyorko has hit 20 HR since the All Star Break. Next closest Cardinal is Randal Grichuk with 13. Only Khris Davis (OAK, 21) and Brian Dozier (MIN, 27) have more in MLB.

Speaking of Grichuk, he is hitting .270/.305/.590 with 16 doubles and 13 HR in the second half.

Yadier Molina, despite concerns of overuse, is killing it in the second half, hitting .348/.384/.502 with a team leading 17 doubles.

Another fun (and potentially advantageous) second-half number: The Giants are on-pace to be the 1st team in MLB history (since the 1st AS Game) to compile the Best Record in the 1st half and the Worst Record in the 2nd half in the same season.

Minnesota's working hard on keeping them from history. Twins are 23-40, Giants are 23-38. Both teams have 11 to play.

Shoot, Minnesota had a 12 game losing streak in August. I am glad I'm not a Twins fan.

Weaver doing exactly what he did last time - middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate, middle of the plate ..........................

6 - 1 Rockies thru 2. Sweet .................

Get Luke outa there, make it a pen game, day off tomorrow, chip-away. It's Colorado ........... let's come back & win this thing.

Off the bat, the Mets were convinced it was a home run -- convinced that finally, for one night, they had managed to vanquish a Braves team bent on disrupting their Wild Card chase. Ender Inciarte had other ideas. Racing over from his perch in center field, Inciarte leaped, thrust his glove over the fence and brought Yoenis Cespedes' drive back into play. Rather than a walk-off homer, it became a game-ending out, allowing the Braves to cap a three-game sweep of the Mets with a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night at Citi Field.

"This is probably the best catch I've ever made," Inciarte said. "I thought the ball was gone off the bat, but it was the last play of the game, so I just went for it. I was really pumped up. I caught the ball, and I knew I had it. But the fans were waiting until I took it out of the glove."

As pointed out by someone on Twitter...

Cardinals trade Shelby Miller to the Braves... Braves acquire Inciarte from Dbacks in trade for Miller... Inciarte robs home run... that Miller trade still paying off for the Cardinals.
