Game 157: Reds @ Cardinals, 9/27/16, 7:15 pm CT

Postby chevyman58 » Tue Sep 27, 2016 5:48 pm

Robert Stephenson, RH, 2-2, 5.59 vs Waino, 12-9, 4.57

Is Waino still able to dig-down & be a Big-Game pitcher or not? Tonight we find out.

Frankly, he's very lucky to have 12 wins. The offense has gotten him off the hook of lousy starts time & time again.

Stephenson has been pretty awful. It's now-or-never for our bats - step-up or take the next 4 months off.

Mets.. 83 - 74, +0.5 - @ Fish, 7:10 PM
Giants 82 - 74, ---- - vs Rox, 10:15 PM
Cards. 81 - 75, 1.0
Fish.... 78 - 78, 4.0 vs Mets 7:10 PM
Bucs ...77 - 79, 5.0 vs Cubs, 7:05 PM

Coming into tonight:

Wainwright has given up the most hits of any NL pitcher this year. Yet he's 10th in innings pitched.

Leake has given up the 2nd-most hits of any NL pitcher this year. Yet he's tied for 23rd in innings pitched.

Garcia has given up the 11th-most hits of any NL pitcher this year. Yet he's tied for 23rd in innings pitched.

Man what a HUGE homer by Diaz. The team needed that so badly.

And Moss breaks his hitless streak with a bloop right down the line. Sometimes that's all it takes to get going, hoping that will get him back on the right track again.

And Peralta makes up for Carpenter's brain fart to add on 3 more!

Then Adams and Grichuk tee off too. Just need 5 more solid games of offense from this team to get in and we can take our chances.

Great Win, bailed out a struggling Waino again.

Don't think that was a Carp brain fart, think it was a hit-'n-run.

I gotta sit Moss for Adams, just got to. Peralta's been heating up.

Mets Win huge. Giants drilling Rox 6-1 in the 5th. We just gotta win-out.
