GAME 162 - It All Comes Down To Last Day

Ryan Vogelsong, RH, 3-7, 5.00 vs Waino, 13-9, 4.67

A Cardinal Win and a Giants Loss = Game 163 Tomorrow In St Louis. Anything less, it's all over but the cryin'.

Dodgers @ Giants, 2:05 PM CT
Kenta Maeda, 16-10, 3.28 vs Matt Moore, 12-12, 4.21
Maeda's been great in September. The Dodgers beat-up Moore just 10 days ago.
The hope is the Dodgers will play to Win today, not just show up.

Lookin' bleak folks. Dodgers trailing 5-1 going to the bottom.of the 4th. Not sure they have a whole lot of motivation to get back in the game, aside from it being Scully's swan song.
I'd say ruining their rivals season would help, but LA would probably prefer to leave St. Louis out of the playoffs instead.

Broxton doing what Broxton does... 4-4 game.

Giants continue to lead 5-1 through 7.

I just had to look up if he's signed for next year ................ he is. Not leaving a good taste in our mouths for the Winter.

Carp comes thru with a 3-run Bomb & Broxton immediately gives the entire lead back.

Giants dominating the Dodgers, Dodgers are stinking into the postseason.

Oh yeah. I think we were all pretty irritated when the club gave him a 2 year deal. I just don't get it.

Molina with a ground-rule double that could have been a triple, or an inside the park homer. Very strange play.

Giants beat the Dodgers 7-1. That's it for us folks. Lets see some standing O's for the big guys and maybe one more appearance for Holliday.

After the Holliday Moment to start the 9th, then the postgame season highlight package, I'm suddenly very, very sad.

Been a great ride, been 6 years since our last game was actually our last game .............. sad .............

We're not used to our season ending so soon. Hopefully next year's edition will get back to playing Cardinals baseball....solid defense and have solid pitching.

It will be interesting to see who is retained, who our new Cardinals will be and who will be gone.

Derrick Goold summed up 2016 perfectly in the opening line of his season ending story.

"The Cardinals did everything within their power Sunday to push the season one day closer to their expected destination, but all they could do was watch as things they didn’t do all season caught up to them."

October baseball rolls on minus the Cardinals
