Scherzer dominated through 7. Harper with 2 HR's. Not the best outing for Martinez. Cards fall 7-2.

Sucks to lose to Scherzer, but there's a reason he's one of the best. It just happened to come on a bad night for Martinez.

Still won the series. Two in a row against division contenders. A reasonable chance to head into the All Star Break at .500 too.

I thought Matheny threw CMart under the bus in his in-game interview by saying "he made a couple mistakes" on the 2 HR pitches to Harper. Those were good pitches, Harper went down 'n in by shear will, talent & strength & drove those 2 out. I thought CMart was decent. Not fantastic, but decent. He's gotten screwed outa Ws this year time & time again. Then look at Waino's W/L record - sheesh.

Harper just decided he was going to win the game himself, and he did so early. We no longer have that type pf superstar offensive player. They do.

Matheny throwing a young player under the bus? I'm shocked! Shocked!

Weird stat I found in my Nationals series recap at RBD... Cardinals are 11-0 this season and 27-7 dating back to last year when Randal Grichuk starts and bats 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. And 15-23, 61-65 dating back to last year, when he starts and bats 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th.
