Making his league-leading 133rd start behind the plate, Molina was hit in nearly identical spots by foul tips off the bat of Kris Bryant to open the seventh. A team athletic trainer, along with manager Mike Matheny, checked on him after the first impact. Molina convinced them he could continue.

The relief lasted for only seconds. On Sandy Alcantara's next pitch, Bryant fouled a second ball of Molina's mask. The veteran catcher fell to his knees, and Matheny immediately summoned backup Carson Kelly to get ready.

Molina threw up as he headed for the clubhouse and immediately went into a series of concussion tests. How he responds to those tests will determine whether Molina takes the field again this season.

Molina leads the Cardinals in RBI & in Hits.

I hadn't heard that he'd thrown up. That's bad news.

I watched the replay today, it's linked in the game thread with Nacho Man. He actually throws up on way to dugout, Edmonds & Dan comment on it.

Ben Zobrist stirred the pot by saying they wanted to clinch in St. Louis. "He better not ask me how I'm doing on the field," Tommy Pham said of Zobrist. "I don't want to be his friend. He's going to come here and pop bottles or all that stuff, don't say hi to me on the field then."

Good job R27, since your post Gyorko is 5-for-7 with 2 HRs.

I am willing to accept all the credit. Whenever I talk bad about a player, they seem to have a good night.

Unfortunately, Colorado beat the Marlins as well. Stanton 1-for-9 in the series. Fits in nicely with the Cardinals hitters already.
