World Series Game 1, Astros @ Dodgers, 10/24/17, 7:00

Postby chevyman58 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 9:08 am

With temperatures reaching 100, Game 1 of the World Series could be the hottest World Series game on record. And Wednesday’s Game 2 could be even hotter — as high as 102 degrees, according to Accuweather.

Dallas Keuchel, LH, 14-5, 2.90 vs Clayton Kershaw, LH, 18-4, 2.31

The Dodgers won 104 games in the regular season, the Astros 101. It will be the first time two 100-win teams face each other in the Series since the Reds and Orioles in 1970.

he Dodgers are trying to end their 29-year championship drought dating back to 1988, and the Astros trying to win it all for the first time in their 55-year franchise history after getting swept by the White Sox in their lone appearance, in 2005.

Both teams are undefeated at home this postseason.

How on earth can it be 100+ degrees in October. It just doesn't make sense.

Why would anyone want to live somewhere where it's 100+ degrees in October. THAT doesn't make sense.

No earthly idea, it's usually pretty warm here in south GA this time of year but definitely doesn't get that bad.

I find this one very, very surprising:

Adrian Gonzalez A No-Show For World Series

It's not that unusual for injured players to not be with the team. All you can do is sit there and watch, unable to help your teammates try to win the biggest games of their life. It has to be torture for anyone who is remotely competitive. I know it always was for me, even just not being in a game and watching my team struggle.

Wainwright's desire to be around the team the two years he missed due to injury is very unusual.

Dodgers take Game 1, 3-1. All runs come via HR.
