Boo! I was hoping for another #1! But, I suppose this works out better as far as future penalty implications...

Dean division is loaded this year. Sold of my pitching hoping to rebuild it through free agency. Grabbed Howard, Sanchez, Heap, Brown and Burten. I also grabbed Rubio to DH for me for good measure. I have a solid rotation and lineup. I don't think it will be enough but I won't be a walk over. Hoping for another winning season.

Excellent free agent frenzy to start the season. Now to keep looking for players in the free agent market.

Moving Vest will make keeping full FOA easier of ther next few seasons, plus it opens up a COF spot for Platt next season. Prettyman should be a good back of the rotation starter, especially in my future defense, so long as the weak CO doesn't hurt him too bad. I've got most of my offense/defense set, but had very little pitching so far in this build, so I am pleased to pick up another SP prospect.

Vegas trades:

West Side trades:

P Blakley Livingston

Traded further out than I wanted to, but Lunsford should be a quality veteran presence in my rotation for the next few years and keeps me from rushing a starting prospect. Livingston will add some bullpen depth, which is a big hole right now for me.

P Eric McLeod

Once it is all accepted:

- Bloomington gets a 24 year old future monster middle of the order bat and a solid OBP C to get him to his prospect catcher.
- West Side continues rebuild, gaining a prospect and a pick for Marie.
- We pick up a pick and a pitcher who is not living up to the potential that I originally hoped he would (and may look to flip him to someone else in the right deal).

Another prospect to West Side for my everyday RF for the rest of the year and potentially 1 more season.

Pick #3

Bayside got SS Becker with the #3 (Had expected him to go #1 until I saw Jose hadn't logged on in awhile)...I think he was probably the best player in the draft, but with my plethora of elite MIF options, I had a hard time using a top-3 pick on him, rather than pulling in one of my team needs. What I really needed out of this draft was pitching, but there really weren't a lot of quality pitchers. My favorite pitcher in the draft was Clark...it was a bit of a jump to take him at #3, but he's probably who I would have taken if I didn't trade the #3. Weiss was a player I had hoped would fall to me at #10 last season, and gave me a good middle of the order bat that my build was missing, plus I figured there was a chance that Clark could still fall to the #11...and sure enough he did! Always nice to get a player like Weiss for "free!" Just had to take a little risk.

Overall, very pleased with my draft:

#11 P Fredrick Clark - 17 - Elite FI, high PO pitcher. Will take some development time, but is sure to make our rotation in the future.

#26 2B Joseph Gilbertson - 19 - with that DI/BA combo, he'll be a very solid OBP guy. His DI is 46 points away, which is mildly concerning for development, but hopefully it comes in quick, as he would make an excellent leadoff hitter for the team.

#48 P Frad Murphy - 22 - Good FI/CO, hoping he'll make a decent bullpen option

I forgot I had a FA signing pending, and I didn't make any extra room in the low minors, so I missed out on my 3rd round pick, but I'm not sure I would have gotten much out of it, anyways.

#3 - SS Gary Becker - He is the only player in this draft who I would consider to be an elite caliber player. So decided to pay the steep price to move up and get him. Elite defense with a decent bat. We'll see when the position opens up.
#20 - 3B Brian Kent - Not the guy I was hoping would be here, but should be a nice catching prospect with a decent bat and should be cheap.
#44 - 2B Joseph Annis - Pleasantly surprised to see him fall here. Decent bat, decent glove at 2B. Will convert to an easier position, may start in CF for me after Schild ages.
#67 - SS Peter Krause - 71 RA, will convert to an easier position and use as a defensive super sub.
#69 - P John Coleman - Cheap pitching scrub.

Our draft went mostly well. I was really hoping that Cardenas would fall to me at 20. Was worried about Windy City or Carolina taking him and unfortunately WC did. Pretty weak pitching draft IMO.

I considered going after the #20 for the same reason, but bailed on the idea becuase I figured he'd go to one of those two.

Y'all are ridiculous over there...though, in theory, Brock should look similar soon, given how many of us have been rebuilding over here for the past few years.

The Aces keep battling to .500 and then go on a five or six game losing streak. And then battle back to .500 and repeat. If this team ever gets some extended traction, they could win the division, but just can't seem to find it.

The Badbirdz are in the market for an upgrade at SS. Bat is optional, fielding prowess mandatory. Let me know if you have spare arms.

So Dean is absolutely absurd right now. 5th place is 13 games over .500 and has a +128 run differential. 2-5 are separated by 2 games.
