I suppose so. I was like, Bloomington had nothing to do with my trades today. But then realized Prettyman was available because he got Swiderski.
I didn't really want Manuel's $4M on my books pitching out of the bullpen and hoped I could talk someone into a late first round pick and Bayside came out firing with one. And then just randomly shot an offer idea out to Saskatchewan this morning when he told me he got Swiderski and was going to trading block Prettyman. And he said yes.
Pretty much the core of my pitching staff is 26 now with Nelson at 25 and Hogan at 27, along with Stewart at 33 my old holdouts. And one of these days I'll decide I can stomach Stewart's $5M in my bullpen since he's averaging an out shy of 6 innings per start.
So when the day was done, I have traded a 36 year old starting pitcher for a 26 year old starting pitcher and saved $1.4M by trading a 2023 first round pick for a 2019 one.
