Carolina wins the 2106 series against Bayside, 2-1. It was our first series win vs Bayside since 2104. Well, that doesn't make a very interesting narrative, which is that Bayside has been kicking Carolina's ass for real life years. So I went back further. Carolina won the 3 game series in 2096, 2091, and 2090 as well. Bayside was only 19-11 against Carolina in the 2090s. 16-14 in the 2080s, 22-8 in 2070s, 19-11 2060s, 15-15 in 2050s (so close). But then, 14-16 in the 2040s. In your face!

Let's hope it doesn't get rolled back, unless we are rolling back to the 2040s.

Rolando Price can play defense. Through his first 80 games, he is making 7.04 plays/game

He just can't hit. After April, his batting average was .118; after May, .122. He's warming up now though. He has an 8 game hitting streak and the average is above theJoshua Walkerline for lowest AVG in CCH history. With the recent additions to the Carolina offense, we hope he gets to bat off a few more of those scrubby relievers populating the leagues bullpen.

.500 OPS is tough to make up for, even with elite defense.

Ratings History was in the latest release and boy is it fun to look back. A couple of my favorite hitters and couple league legends....

Frank Pruitt - 8 x MVP, 5 x WS Winner. His ratings look weaker than I would have expected. Same with 5 x MVP Matt Marchese

Gregory Luke was maxed from at least 1983 (81-82 data DNE) until 1992 and had BA + SL ratings over 80 until 1997 (his age 37 season)

Joseph Gonzalez was at 98 DI and 98 BA when he had his .376/.505/.612 season.

Angel Sampson. He of the legendary EN that caused him to sit out Game 7 of the WS. I didn't realize he stayed maxed for so long. For having the same big 4 for 10 straight seasons, he sure fluctuated a lot in the power department.

and my favorite failure.

John Fuller. the potentials of this 23yo draftee got me to overlook his actuals on draft day.

In preparation for Jonathan Schmit's back-to-back no-hitters (and 3rd of his career), I did some checking on achievements...

Most 8+ RBI Games: 6 David Davis
Most Cycles: 4 Atley Kelly
Most No-Hitters: 4 Gerald Torbert and Charles Hall
10 Perfect Games, nobody with 2
Most SB of Home: 14 with 2
7 20+K games, nobody with more than 1

andujar wrote:Most Runs Scored in a Game

33 Marietta vs New York 4. Balanced attack. Everybody with at least 2 hits. No achievements.

31 Portland vs Jacksonville 4. Cycle for Guadalupe Bolin. Mark Miller scores 6 runs.

31 Marietta vs Jacksonville 0. Feels like I'm picking on Jacksonville here. Largest margin of victory. Marietta only scored in 4 different innings, but 8 + 11 + 8 + 4 = 31.

Ugh. This is a list I could pretend never exists. ;) The first one was before I took over in 2017. The second one... well, at least I took the series. :)
