Quincy is making a spirited run at the worst record in league history. 25-94 with 41 to go. The record is 34-126 so they'd need to go 8-33 (24.2%) or worse down the stretch to take the WOAT title. They're currently winning at a 21% clip so it's probable, not just possible.

Michael Smith Struck out his 400th batter in his 31 game of the year! Pretty cool to watch him as he has developed over the years.

He seems to have turned out about as good as I expected him to be.

You still should have taken me up on the Smith/Pederson swap I offered. Or even a few years later when I was pretty much prepared to offer you anything you wanted for him.

He wasn't giving him up for anything. Back when we had our talks and we did the Rodriguez trade, I asked for Smith and offered significantly more but he said he wasn't moving him at all.

I think I made a similar offer for Pedersen that you turned down As well. You have the World Series to show for it and I'm still just waiting. Hopefully this year is the year. Even though my team should be a lot better next season.

Two garbage heap FA signings have hit for the cycle for New York this year. Jack Leake did it on 4/18 and Toviel Colon did it on 5/2. New York has actually had 5 cycles in the last 5 years and all but one of them came from a non-core player. Very strange.

So in posting the Marietta opening on the CSFBL forums, I looked to see if the league was still the 3rd oldest. 127th season and we actually just recently passed Earth Baseball as now the 2nd oldest league on CSFBL as we are on 6/26 of our 127th season and they are on 6/13 of their 127th season. Slowly gaining on World League, who is on 9/17 of their 129th season but are a 4/day league. We should catch them in the next 6 months I'd think barring us slowing down a bunch for some reason. Kind of cool.

SS Harry Gobert had an all time career game at just age 20.

On 7/10 against Katutura, Gobert went 6/6 with 3 HR and 5 RBI while also hitting for the cycle.

I don't actually remember one of my players doing this before. Nor do I ever expect to see a guy with 30 BA to ever come close to doing this again.

And he'll retire next year because he didn't ever do it again.

Probably jinxing it, but Tim Bertrans currently possesses the best ERA on my team and the worst WHIP. My hope for his season is that he can get that ERA below his WHIP because I'm pretty sure that's got to be some kind of record.

I like the 1.9 K/9 versus the 9.5 BB/9 he's currently posting the best.

I came prepared to celebrate Bertram getting his ERA lower than his WHIP, but come to find out that the stats page and the player page calculate it differently.

On the stats page he has a 2.02 ERA and 2.03 WHIP. On the player page he has a 2.02 ERA and a 2.02 WHIP. When you calculate it out to five decimal places, he has a 2.02505 ERA and a 2.02500 WHIP. So he is literally 5 hundred-thousandths away from having an ERA lower than his WHIP.

One could argue that he should be rounded up to a 2.03 ERA and 2.03 WHIP on both pages. This shatters my faith in CSFBL's stat keeping system.
