Missouri has suspended Maty Mauk for the rest of the season.

The quarterback had recently been reinstated to the team last weekend. Missouri sent out a release Sunday announcing that Mauk had been suspended for the remainder of the season. The violation was not disclosed.

Rumors abound that Mauk has a deep love for Peruvian Marching Powder.

Wow this kid has really screwed up his situation. Once highly touted, he's now a train wreck.

Though its football team has fared poorly (sucked bad) in the past couple of seasons and its athletic director was recently fired, the University of Texas at Austin still leads the country in athletic revenue.

The UT athletic program brought in revenue of $179.6 million during the 2014-2015 school year, according to CBS Sports, which culled the numbers from U.S. Department of Education data. By comparison, UT brought in $163 million back in 2011-2012.

Rounding out the top five are Ohio State University ($170.9 million), Alabama ($150.6 million); Louisiana State University ($138.9 million) and Oklahoma ($135.7 million).

My Appalachian State Mountaineers won their first ever bowl game on Saturday night, 31-29 after outscoring Ohio 24-5 in the 4th quarter including a 73 yard drive by our sophomore QB to put us into field goal range with two seconds on the clock.

We just bumped up from the FCS to FBS and this was the first year we could go to a bowl. We went 10-2 and then won our bowl. I think we're the first team ever to win their first bowl game, in their first year of eligibility, in the first year they were allowed to go to a bowl.

At 11-2 after the bowl win, it's the most wins ever in a single season by a Sun Belt team (not bad for our second season in the conference ).

It was also our best record since 2007 (where we went 13-2 and also the year we beat Michigan in the big house), where we won the third of three straight FCS National Championships.

App has a young team, so the next couple years look good. I'm excited.

How do you view their difficulty of Schedule compared to the Big Boys? What will they have to do in the future to get on BCS Radar?

I'm a proponent of the idea you can only beat who will play you, but in general I doubt that their schedule is anything more than average.

I believe they had received top-25 votes after the Halloween win against Troy. Losing to Arkansas State ended up being for the conference as both teams were undefeated in the conference at that point. That was pretty much the pivot point for the season. If App beats Arkansas State, they probably end up in the top-25 and then finish 13-1, with the only loss being #1 Clemson. That's not a bad season.

Their never going to have a shot at being a big boy, not in the Sun Belt, but they usually play one big program (Miami is coming TO Boone next year or 2017, can't remember which) a year in the non-conference schedule. This year it was Clemson. They tried to do that even when they were an FCS school. Our old coach, who retired a couple years ago after coaching them for like 20-25 years, always felt the team could learn something from playing from the elite teams. Plus I'm sure the money wasn't bad either.

They seem to be a good enough program compared to other similar programs to garner top-25 consideration if a season goes well.

Typically teams outside the upper tier get either side of a million bucks for playing a top-tier team.
